Describing people using adjectives 

Objective

To reinforce and help the students visualize the adjectives we´ve been learning in class to describe people. To help them learn how to work as a team. To have them present their poster for oral practice. 

Time

45 minutes

Materials

1 large poster board 

Magazines or Catalogs

Pencil

Rubber

Markers

Scissors

Glue Stick

Vocabulary Used

• Tall
• Short
• Young
• Old

• Pretty

• Scissors, Glue Stick, Ruler, Ruber, Markers, Pencil 

Classroom Instructions

• Cut, paste/glue, erase, draw, write, color

Instructions

1. Show the class the poster for an example
2. Ask them some questions about the different people on your poster
3. Write the different adjectives on the board
4. Divid the class into groups of 4-5 students
5. Give each group a magazine or catalog
6. Have them find and cut out pictures of people that match the adjectives
7. Give each group a poster board
8. Tell them to glue/paste the pictures on the poster board
9. Tell them to write a sentence using the adjectives next to each picture. For example, She is pretty. OR He is tall. 
10. Walk around and monitor each group
11. When they are finished have each group present their poster to the class
